BITE2GO PUMPKIN DRIVE AND VOICES OF HOPE – OCTOBER 9

BITE2GO PUMPKIN DRIVE 

Bellwether Brewing Co. is hosting a pumpkin drive this weekend to raise money for Second Harvest’s Bite2Go program, which provides weekend meals and snacks to school-aged children in food insecure homes. Joshua Loera created the event after his family grew 3,000 pumpkins on their farm in Moses Lake this year. The fundraiser will take place Friday, Oct. 9 through Sunday, Oct. 11 at Bellwether Brewing Co. in Spokane. All proceeds from the pumpkin sales will help get food to kids facing hunger. Learn more about the event here. 

VOICES OF HOPE 

“Without the supporters, without the people that actually care about the food banks and care about their community—because they’re serving their community—we couldn’t do what we do.” 

In this video, Cecelia Chaves, director of Toppenish Community Chest, shared her experience serving her neighbors in need and how the food provided by Second Harvest helps her food bank fulfill its mission. Toppenish Community Chest is one of Second Harvest’s more than 250 partner agencies on the front lines of response to the COVID-19 crisis.
