feeding hope: patty’s story
For Patty, the COVID-19 pandemic has meant a lot of “together time” with her family. She’s the matriarch of a nine-person household spanning four generations. Several people in her family have medical conditions that put them at greater risk for COVID-19 complications. She’s taken on the responsibility of leaving to get whatever her family needs to help keep them safe. Today, they needed food.
“It helps quite a bit—being able to come some place that gives what the community needs.”
“It hasn’t been easy,” said Patty. “It’s hard not being able to go out and do the things we used to do.”
With nine mouths to feed at home, Patty was grateful for the food she received at the Mobile Market. “It helps quite a bit—being able to come some place that gives what the community needs,” she said. “It’s nice to have you here. Second Harvest is a blessing.”
